Genius Merchant Sync Privacy Policy

This product-specific notice describes Google data handling by Genius Merchant Sync. It supplements the general Genius Software Development privacy policy and applies when a store administrator connects Google Merchant services.

Google user data we access

Merchant Sync accesses the selected Merchant Center account and data-source identifiers, the product-input fields needed for synchronization (such as title, link, price, availability and category where supplied), and sanitized product or account issue status. OAuth authorization metadata binds the connection to the administering store. We request only https://www.googleapis.com/auth/content; we do not request Gmail, Drive, Ads, profile or unrelated Google data.

How we use Google user data

We use this data only to validate the selected Merchant Center account, create or update product inputs on administrator-authorized sync, process an explicit product removal request, show sanitized status or issue information, and provide connection support. We do not use Google user data for advertising, credit decisions, generalized profiling, or AI/ML model training.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent or share Google user data for third-party advertising. Data is sent to Google only through authorized Merchant API operations. Disclosure to hosting, security or support providers is limited to operating the requested service under confidentiality and access controls, or to cases required by law or abuse prevention.

Protection and retention

OAuth tokens and connection credentials are encrypted at rest, transmitted over HTTPS/TLS, restricted to the store service and authorized administrators, and excluded from logs and diagnostic exports. We retain connection and synchronization records only as long as needed for the requested service, security, support and legal obligations. Disconnecting stops future access and removes stored authorization data according to the deletion workflow.
